Rose is a highly accomplished aesthetic artist with a rich background in the beauty industry, spanning hair, makeup, and brows since the young age of 16. Renowned for her unwavering commitment to perfection in every artistic endeavor, she places a profound emphasis on accentuating the inherent beauty within each individual.
During her early high school years, Rose discovered her passion for beauty, teaching her friends the art of makeup and fearlessly experimenting with cutting and coloring her own hair. However, her teachers disapproved of her wearing makeup, as it violated the school's strict uniform policy. Despite this, Rose knew from the age of 14 that she wanted to pursue a career in the beauty industry. It was the allure of harnessing the power to transform and enhance a canvas through artistic mediums that captivated her.
Impatient to get into the industry, Rose left school early and embarked on a four-year hairdressing apprenticeship, half way through a deeper purpose began to take shape. She delved into the realms of self-help and esoteric spirituality, seeking ways to improve her mental well-being and overall quality of life. At 19 years old, Rose took a two-year hiatus from her apprenticeship to immerse herself fully in the arts of meditation, breathwork, and wellness. She dedicated her time to studying philosophies and religions from around the world.
This transformative journey, which she embarked upon at such a young age, reshaped Rose's perspective and instilled within her an ardent desire to help others find some level of inner peace. A chance encounter with an acquaintance revealed the unique position she held as a confidante to her clients, who shared their deepest thoughts and feelings with her—often more than they would with their closest friends. Recognizing the impact she could have on individuals' self-worth, both physically and mentally, Rose realized it was time to reintegrate herself into the beauty industry, aligning her newfound purpose with her artistic craft. To this day, many of Rose's clients affectionately jest that seeing her is akin to visiting a therapist.
Rose's artistic perfectionism, combined with her meticulous eye for detail and genuine interest in her clients' lives and well-being, propelled her towards a path of success. Following the completion of her apprenticeship, she joined Toni&Guy, one of the world's largest salons renowned for its pioneering hair education. There, she underwent retraining to meet their exceptional standards of skill, surpassing the traditional hairdressing training prevalent in Australia. Although Rose had already been providing makeup services for various events over the years, it was during this period that she pursued a professional makeup license. Subsequently, she ventured beyond the security of working for a large company to establish her own business.
Her journey led her to incredible experiences, such as traveling to New York for fashion week and opening her own salon in Darlinghurst, situated at the heart of Sydney.
Rose's passion for aesthetic beauty extended beyond hair and makeup. She undertook a course in interior styling, which was reflected in the exquisite ambiance of her salon. Additionally, she offered lifestyle-enhancing products like crystals, books, candles, and houseplants.
In recent years, Rose delved into the works of Anthony William, the Medical Medium, and became fascinated by the incredible healing stories resulting from his protocols. She gained a profound understanding of the intricate connection between food and health, as well as the impact of chemical exposure in every facet of our lives.
To mitigate some of this exposure, Rose made a significant change by transitioning her entire salon range to the cleanest and safest products available, including her color range. She opted for Original Mineral (O&M) color, which is free from harmful chemicals such as resorcinol, PPD, and ammonia. Furthermore, she switched her hair products to vegan-friendly and fragrance-free options, including Australian brands Mr Smith and Everessence.
However, as time went on, Rose realized that her priorities had shifted. She recognized that regardless of how many "clean" products she incorporated, working in a hair salon still exposed her to a multitude of chemicals that could over time disrupt her well-being. Additionally, she was beginning to feel that Sydney no longer provided the fulfilling lifestyle she desired.
In mid 2022, Rose made the profound decision to step back from full-time salon work, fully embracing the lifestyle she had come to yearn for above all else. She sold her salon and relocated to the serene mid-north coast, a six-hour journey away from Sydney. In this tranquil setting, she spends her days cultivating fruits and vegetables in her backyard, caring for her beloved rescue pets, going for swims in the ocean and the rejuvenating rivers nestled amidst the mountains.
Presently, Rose travels to Sydney every 4 weeks to attend clients, dedicating 10 days of focused attention to their needs.
Going from full time to part time salon work means Rose has significantly less mental and physical fatigue, allowing her to recharge and refresh, in exchange for the energy to be more creative and live deeply in the experience of life.
Over all, transitioning to part time has given Rose the freedom and space to nurture her creative side and explore her passions more fully, because, after all, isn't that what life is truly about—embracing the boundless possibilities of creativity and finding fulfillment in the pursuit of our passions?
